I think its outrageous! TVNZ one news midday said $1 plus GST. |

It does seem, though, that some tax relief might help, although it would only be temporary decrease and simply putting off the inevitable . The government says that the tax is used to build roads and other transport projects . Believe them if you will, but I wonder why some projects have been on and off the go for the past 40 years or so . Auckland's motorway system is one example . I'm quite certain that it will not be finished in our lifetime . :groan: And if they ever do finish, no-one will be able to afford to pay for the fuel to actually drive on them . They'll just be really expensive, multi-lane cycleways . :groan: |
