684278 2008-07-02 02:27:00 Just a guess but would a PC World NZ Mag that consisted more of game reviews of every game, more hardware component/graphics card reviews, PC news from around NZ, a continuation of the Ultimate Beast and more how to fix my PC and make it faster be a better mix of content?

And just ignore the fact that some PC users are switching to Macs and lots of schools have Macs as part of the cirriculum.

684280 2008-07-02 11:10:00 You people are not helping ensure the survival of pressf1 by making those sort of comments on the magazine forum - if the magazine folds due to lack of subscriptions there will be no forum either.

Ah, So the customer base is at fault, Nice logic, I wonder if the TV networks apply such fluffy logic to their failed shows.

Would ignore it if it was a fact or actually worth caring about. Can't ignore something that isnt even worth a damn to me.

A PC mag that consisted of PC game reviews rather then console game reviews would be a good start.

However, The magazine is chasing trends, Hence we get articles on whatever is in the public eye or well marketed, TV's, consoles, cameras, Vista, Norton's.

Apple has positioned there brand as trendy and upmarket, No surprise that a magazine like modern day PC World wants to be riding that gravy train.

As shallow as a teenager with the latest pair of shoes......

684283 2008-07-02 12:12:00 I am sure they are adhering to "Best international practise".

Obviously it will need to be re-branded as iPC Universe, have most pages empty, cost $45 per issue and be printed on absorbent, perforated, apple scented paper wound on a long roll.

That has got to be what the market needs surely? Or it's what some of it deserves anyway.

Indeed that is very true although Macs do run a lot of Windows software including Windows itself which is relevant when reviewing Windows software apps or running tests or in the case of some customers, when purchasing a new computer. However in the interests of users on this forum it might be better just to go with gaming, PC fixing/tweaking/building and graphic card reviews - of course I guess it depends on whether overall sales and subscriptions are improving or dropping as a result of having more Mac related articles in a PC Mag.

The reason I mentioned it was because of the Education 2.0 article on page 42 which covers the new look computing guidelines in schools that is expected to be put through parliament shortly.

It should also be noted that Windows overall market share has dropped from 95% to around 90% in the last couple of years with further declines expected.

I have never seen or bought a MacWorld magazine that fitted that description as they are always filled with content and printed on a standard glossy stock similar to PC Mag although the layout tends to be better.
