683966 2008-06-30 18:27:00 I filled out a survey for Norton and because I said nice things I think, they gave me a code for 25% discount off purchases from their online store www.symantecstore.com/global valid till 1st Sept. According to what they said I can share the code with family and friends. The code is fmj8sh62u

NOD32 is making the same offer...it's about $2.00/month here in the US.
Guess their customer base is shrinking too...either that or people aren't going to the porn sites as much as they used to.

683967 2008-06-30 21:01:00 You COULD NOT pay me to run that software. I'll take it and burn it, but never ever run it. wratterus (105)

Nope, just the customer base. :p

Still see plenty of 'infected' machines.

683969 2008-06-30 21:33:00 Lookinig at the above comments it is almost as if the PressF1 community hates Norton.
The latest issue of PCWorld has done a test of Norton 360 v 2.0 and gives it a rating of 8.0 which is not too bad.
I have to confess that I have bought the product because I got it cheap and because I am a bit stupid to work out what free products I need and how to manage them. I know I installed Zone Alarm several years ago, and never did understand how to configure it.
If anyone wants to share my subscription to this product for $20 per computer (max 2 computers) plus postage and return postage of the disc back to me after it is installed, please send me a private message.

We hate it because of real world experiences with it.
I don't care what mags say, I do my own tests.

683971 2008-06-30 21:39:00 This test was probably arranged by the same people who decide the ad quota for this page. They use a bigger percentage of their brain deciding how many ads are enough though. ;) R2x1 (4628)

I won't comment to much on magazine rating on Anti virus Software, I do not respect many journalists opinions, I prefer to go with my own experiences and Nortons is by far one of the worst AV's out there (typing from a work PC with Norton's regrettably lol).

Add in Zone Alarm and my god, you have successfully put the worst AV with the Worst firewall and made your PC into blubbering hunk of junk, congrats!

683974 2008-07-01 01:38:00 Zonealarm is bad, but it's not as useless as the Norton firewall, which I ditched immediately for Comodo when I discovered just how bad it was Agent_24 (57)
