| 813369 | 2009-09-26 11:41:00 | as he now has another friend who has told him that its just a jumper setting and its easily fixed. Sounds like another " expert" who knows what a problem is without even seeing it. You get lots of those - some think they know the answer to every problem. Quite often I hear my " friend, son, neighbour etc are computer experts and they cant fix it--- Man I've have been tempted to say " so why the hell are you call me then " :) |

| 813370 | 2009-10-06 06:11:00 | Have you tried this? (www.theeldergeek.com) Thanks CYaBro I got the PC back over the weekend and followed the fix supplied Worked perfectly. I don't understand what this registry entry actually does but it works fine now For those who may have been following the thread, the fix is as below [Start] [Run] [Regedit] Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class Key Name: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} Value Data: [Delete All Value Data from UpperFilters and LowerFilters] Note: Do not delete the Key or the Multi-String Values. Delete only the data values. Exit Registry and Reboot Cheers HH |
