| 684066 | 2008-06-30 22:33:00 | Have to tell you guys about this . . . . . Colleague comes to me yesterday for advice about a new laptop . I ask her what she wants to spend . She says around $2k, which is cool . She's thinking about a Mac . I get a pained look on my face :p I tell her her to get anything other than Acer, and that I have a preference for Asus . On her budget, she should be able to get a nice Vista machine . Tell her to check out Dick Smith for some sweet deals . So this morning, she comes up to me with a big smile, and tells me she went to Hardly Normal, where the nice young man sold her an ACER!!!!!:yuck: NOOOOOOOO!!!!! :groan: And then, because he was such a nice young man, he sold her a copy of NAV 2008!!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!! :groan: Turns out she got confused, and thought Acer were the business, and Asus were piles of poo :crying |

If it is of any help, the Consumers Guarantee Act says, I think, that you have a certain period of time that you may return the purchase if it is not want you want. You can't change it if it is not the right size or colour but you can if it does not do what you are told it is capable of. An idea, perhaps? |

I have two Acer laptops here and my parents each have an Acer as well :thumbs: Never had a problem with any of them . My dad's one is about 6 years old now and still goes like a trooper . One of mine went around the world with me in my backpack and hasn't missed a beat . |
