| 814982 | 2009-09-29 00:50:00 | Just last night I was encoding a movie onto a DVD. The program crashed half way through. Then the DVD Drive became inaccessible. I fixed that by a windows update. My problem is that I cant record anything onto my discs also my DVD Drive is now recognized as DVD RAM after a firmware update which Dell recommended. OS: Windows XP SP3 DVD Drive: TSST TS-L632H slim 8x DVD+/-RW |

System Restore for the update - or take the update out from Add/Remove - Updates. Are you sure you got the right firmware? Check your manufacturers firmware updates - not Dells. Dell don't make drives. |

| 814984 | 2009-09-29 03:10:00 | Try this firmware. drivers.softpedia.com Windows Updates don't "fix" things like that...undo it as pctek has recommended. |

Or just the sucky Windows CDWriter...... I went to both of those. I tried running the fix but my DVD-RW is not recognized as a DVD burner anymore. No programs will recognize it, its a Windows XP error. I have worked out a way around this. By running Fedora's built in DVD Burner. It seems XP has screwed up in a way that Microsoft can't fix. I'm gonna use this alternative until I get Microsofts Windows 7. :drool Thanks all for the help. Much appreciated :thanks Firzen001 |
