| 814382 | 2009-09-27 06:11:00 | I am about to make my new gaming rig but i don't know what i should get, my budget is $1000-$1500 and it will be used for high end gaming so it needs to be fast, it also needs to have a reasonably big HDD as i tend to store alot of media files etc. The price doesn't need to include the monitor,mouse or keyboard but does need to include the case so tell me what you think i should get, :thanks in advance :) | smithinator (15240) | ||

| 814384 | 2009-09-27 19:57:00 | x2 for Blam's suggestion, I personally would spend a little more and get an Asus 4870 but XFX have the 3 year warranty too - just personal preference I've never really liked XFX. I don't know if you would need an optical drive or not, if so Asus/Pioneer/LiteOn/LG are good. What res does (or will) your monitor run at? I would recommend getting hold of Win7 x64 to throw on this build. :thumbs: |

| 814390 | 2009-09-28 02:49:00 | That all depends on if you think you might use those features. If you're not going to use them there's no point in spending the extra dosh. Looking on Ascent the price diff is around $50, or supposedly $30 with the new stock although those OOS prices aren't always accurate. I'd go for the P cause I like having two Ethernet ports, but most people won't find this feature useful. If you'll be overclocking at all it looks like the P might be a better bet in that area. Either board will be fine. |
