| 686474 | 2008-07-08 07:52:00 | Work replace my phone every two years so I'll see what's on offer at my next update, based on the phone as it is now I wouldn't want one for free. Too many "features" that are pointless to me, and lacking the basic features that are a requirement. Oh yeah, There is the fact that Apple suck and its fanbase are morons. |

I believe that Mark Rushworth of Vodafone would get the Moron of the Month award tonight after watching him on Campbell Live. For the record neither myswelf nor anyone else I know will be getting an iPhone anytime soon - unless Vodafone has a dramatic about face with their data charges. |

He looked well on the back foot and close to tears at one point... :D Didn't like being asked the hard questions by Campbell, especially when he started (shock-horror) comparing NZ pricing plans against O2 in the UK and Optus in Aussie!! |

| 686477 | 2008-07-08 08:24:00 | Why would I? My current phone lets me make calls and texts, its a phone thats what its supposed to do. I don't own anything Apple and I have a happy normal life that needs no member extensions from Apple. I hate ipods as the music is locked into them and not transferable, I hate macs as I can't have a choice of what I want so I won't have an Iphone either when other phones are as good for what I need at a fraction of the cost. | gary67 (56) | ||
| 686478 | 2008-07-08 08:33:00 | The fact it is a high end phone is quite irrelevant to the argument, so I'm glad John Campbell really pressed the point that we are being charged more for the exact same thing. I guess Mark Rushworth didn't really have any alternative other than to avoid his questions, because the truth wouldn't exactly show Vodafone in a very good light. It is sad that he resorted to the location argument as Telecom always does with their broadband plans. Given that most websites are hosted in the US, it is a pretty feeble argument that it costs more to get data to New Zealand than the UK, when their very own mobile data plans offer better value (shame you can't get a subsidy or sign up to one of these without having to get a voice plan as well) and Australian prices are significantly lower despite the fact their international data comes in via the exact same cable. |

That seriously blew his "long way from anywhere so we have to charge more" theory out the window. I liked how Campbell had all the data charges from the 21 carriers infront of him including from our Aussie neighbours. ;) Vodafone is currently making Rogers of Canada look like a charitable organisation and that is not a good honour to have. |
