| 685838 | 2008-07-07 00:50:00 | It's an Acer, sorry, it won't be the last of your problems. It's highly unlikely, but try to get a refund or replacement of another brand if you can. Asus, Toshiba, HP are great. Just remember not to go in all pissed off and in a threatening mood, since that will likely discourage the retailer from even wanting to help you. I've many times had customers come in with faulty products and insulting me as if I've made the junk and demanding that we give them an instant refund for problems such as this. Keep in mind, the store will have to send it away to a technician since they are entitled to have it examined. The retailer is not qualified to check whether the product has been damaged by a user fault (damaged by dropping it/spilling water somewhere/humidity damage/damage from power surge) so they have to wait for a report before they can proceed. Billy T has got it right : I suggest that you accept the offer to repair, but tell the manager in writing that if it fails again you will want a full refund, not repair or replacement. It would be reasonable to assume that you will have lost all faith in the product/brand by that time. |

| 685840 | 2008-07-23 01:10:00 | Speaking of Acer. I rang them about a battery for an Aspire 5310 notebook/laptop. $207.13 + GST + freight ! Bloody hell !. Other thing is, there's only ONE place in NZ that sells them, which is in CHCH. (They get them from Australia). Which probably explains the price. It doesnt help, if youre in Auckland does it. |

A lot of stores are dumping stock at the moment to get rid of it, and staff will be next. There are also a lot of empty shops in my town, and more and more are emptying out with closing down sales. I think NZ is in for a tough time in the next few years, and I blame the government for it due to their policies. |

| 685843 | 2008-07-23 02:44:00 | and I blame the government for it due to their policies. What a load of rubbish. NZ is influenced by what is happening in the rest of the world mainly in the US and also the oil prices which we have no control of. It wouldn't matter who was governing NZ at the moment as we would be in the same situation. Most western countries are hurting at the moment. :) |
