686036 2008-07-07 11:19:00 i dont use any antivirus at all, i use a 2nd boot of xp to scan for virusses if any (in that case nod32) but anti-v is a waste of resources imo Codex (3761)

686039 2008-07-08 11:32:00 Nod 32 and Avast, using Nod32 right now on both my important comps, avast (free home edition) on the others, don't notice it ever slowing me down, hasn't had any noticeable effect on boot times at all and seems to integrate perfectly to both XP & Vista. Nice frequent updates, which are also heaps faster to retrieve than others. Deathwish (143)
686040 2008-07-08 22:49:00 so avast is better than AVG? How is it for resource usage? Apparently AVG is quite lightweight... utopian201 (6245)

AVG WAS quite light weight.

It's competing with Nortons now.

Avast is very similar to NOD32, extremely good, probably uses a little more RAM, but not much.
