686318 2008-07-08 22:39:00 Those prices are too expensive for me. I barely use $50 a year on my pre-pay cell phone. I can think of better things to waste my money on than calling or texting people when I sit right in front of a landline and can use that for almost free.

Some people may like the ability to jailbreak the iPhone and use other third party apps on the road though, Sitting in an Airport on IRC on your iPhone maybe as an example, if your eyesight is good.

I suspect, Bantu, that at $50 mobile phone spend p.a., you're not a particularly attractive proposition as a customer for any network!! :)

Definitely not the target demographic for an iPhone!!!

686321 2008-07-08 22:53:00 I think everyone who wants a iphone should jump on the phone to vodaphone and consistantly jam the lines all day about the ludicrous prices of these plans surely by then they will have to cave in to public demand.

Yes

And even better if no one bought one.

That would make Apple sit up and look at the NZ dealer

Waste of my valuable time .

Better that the punters just not buy the damn thing .

That would send a message, loud and clear!!

@ Digby: Snap!

686323 2008-07-08 23:04:00 just a quick reminder that pcworld.co.nz will have the world's first review of the iphone, at 12:01AM Thursday morning. just over 12 hours to go :D

Scott is doing the review, and there will be a video review as well.

Scott's also the one showing the phone off on Breakfast.

Will he be making any comment on the pricing plans or is he just doing the hardware review?

To my mind they are intrinsically linked. One of the main selling points of the phone is the web-ability and the 3G nature of the experience (ie. fast). The "problem" with "fast" is that with an average amount of browsing over a month it won't be hard to exceed the pathetic 1GB cap on their best plan...

686325 2008-07-08 23:14:00 Scott, always the thorough reviewer, will of course look into stuff like pricing etc :) Jan Birkeland (4741)
