| 686108 | 2008-07-07 08:30:00 | I kept this off the tech site as I thought it was more personal. Ok. So I am as thick as two short planks. I just cannot get started. I downloaded half a dozen site making programes. Not one of them, clearly, tells me what to do. The one I would have preffered would have been with Office 2003 or Word 2003. however, you need to buy Front Page. Can somebody give me a few pointers. Only if you have actually done one please. Thanks PJ |

| 686110 | 2008-07-07 09:03:00 | Stu...Thanks for replying. I am pushing 70 & my brain is not as agile or as flexible as it once was. I am just not getting the message. Some years ago I started one off using Word 2000 ( I think), cant even understand that now. Wht I want to do is be able to make & maintain a Web Site. Part Private, via password & part Buisness available to all. Business is to pomote a book(s) I have written. I am talking to our ISP orcon about a free website that they advertised a long time ago then discontinued. I am in the queue to connect up with a Systems tecch from there. PJ Ys. MS Office 2003 Professional. |

| 686114 | 2008-07-07 10:00:00 | Just write each page up as a document, Save it as a doc file, anyone who wants to help can just make a very simply page and copy/past your content in, and do whatever magic they do to put everything in its place. You can tell em what background and buttons you want, and where to put em. |

| 686117 | 2008-07-07 10:36:00 | Is there an existing site that looks like what you have in mind? The free webhosting offered by most ISP is usually very basic (no scripts or databases). You may not be able to have private areas. There are free alternatives you may consider such as MySpace.com, Facebook.com, Google Sites, Blogger.com etc. |
