814947 2009-09-28 23:59:00 aloha pressF1 people

i have recently upgraded my computer and in the process legitimised my XP pro...
however i now find that my microsoft office is not genuine...ie legal
after some online searching i thought perhaps i should ask the forum what is the best way and price to go about this.
i use outlook, excel and word on a daily basis, although powerpoint has come in handy on the odd occasion. my current office is the 2003 version

hope someone out there can point me in the right direction

814949 2009-09-29 00:09:00 If you don't need Outlook then have you considered Open Office.

In all my travels, apart from many PDAs and Cellphones only able to sync with Outlook, most users can get used to Open Office and Thunderbird after the initlal learning curve.

My 2c worth.

814950 2009-09-29 00:20:00 +1 for PB. Do you qualify for an academic version of Office hoanikai? PB have a great price on Office Standard 2007 Academic.

814951 2009-09-29 00:50:00 thanks chill, thanks wratterus

have contacted pb they gave me a very good price $219+gst for office 2007 standard (outlook, word, excel, powerpoint)

(un)fortunately i am no longer a student wratterus, having graduated with a diploma of creative enterprise last year.
what a steep learning curve it was for me after 40 years away from it, enjoyable though as 80% of the work was done online in a virtual classroom
if you are interested you can see/hear one of the results here

thanks once again

814952 2009-09-29 03:06:00 If you don't use many advanced features of office then possibly something like google docs or Windows Live office when released would suffice?

Or maybe OpenOffice or StarOffice?

And thunderbird instead for email?

Does the 2007 Home and Student Edition still allow for installation on 3 computers, like the 2003 version did? I can't find any mention on the link there....

If the license terms in NZ and the US are the same, then yes: www.amazon.com

814956 2009-09-29 06:15:00 Office 2007, Home & Student Retail does have a 3 user license, BUT it DOESN"t have outlook.

Suite Includes: Microsoft Office Excel 2007, Microsoft Office OneNote 2007, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 & Microsoft Office Word 2007.
