Does anyone know why this cpu won't boot on my Asrock M266A with latest bios?

814684 2009-09-28 01:42:00 What happens? No POST at all? What CPU came out of it? Have you reset BIOS to defaults? Is this CPU known working condition? Suitable power (including any necessary additional power connectors)? inphinity (7274)
814685 2009-09-28 01:56:00 No post at all. It does however boot fine with a slower P4 but it's not my pc so I can't tell you what spec the old cpu are. sorry. Have reset the bios too. stone2 (9037)
814686 2009-09-28 02:15:00 Did you reconnect the cpu fan / 12 atx connection?? Short the pwr / gnd on the mobo header. See if that works Speedy Gonzales (78)
814687 2009-09-28 03:05:00 yep tried all that I can only conclude that the cpu voltage on the new cpu is not compatible with mobo.
Sound right?

814688 2009-09-28 03:09:00 I'd be pretty surprised, though it is assrock, so regardless of their claimed CPU support it may well be incompatible. inphinity (7274)
