| 688172 | 2008-07-12 08:43:00 | Do the aerials on the roof combine at the mount so that there's only 1 lead coming down into the house? That'll probably be on the normal TV point. The leads added later will be Sky and maybe an extension into another room. |

| 688173 | 2008-07-12 08:53:00 | Not sure, each aerial is on a different roof, TV is on house and sky on shed. is this a prime aerial or not? www.imagef1.net.nz www.imagef1.net.nz and in the sky photo i have a spare empty pole with no attachments? ill have a check closer tomorow. I will get up into ceiling tomorow i guess and see, and off roof, now i have a ladder. :illogical beetle |

| 688178 | 2008-07-12 10:02:00 | Thats ok . Now i only have one tv plugged into the tv aerial thing in the wall, its a horid picture and some days we cant even tell if there are people on the screen or not . its a 32 inch widescreen, and its had good pics at the other places we lived, except where the aerial spun round alot . but its crap at this house . the only other tv's we have are a 14 inch on bunnies ears, (this is at least 15 years old) and its picture is much better than the big one, but we are unable to get channel one on that . its in the bedroom and there is a tv point in there, but i currently dont have a cable so its bunniies ears to the rescue . the other tv is a 21 inch which is for playstation only ( over 6 years old at least) but im not too worried bout connecting the others up, just id like to watch tv where i can see and understand what is happening, and i have aerials and i cannot fathom why i dont have picture . and sky and freeview are currently not an option . any ideas or helpful advice is greatly appreciated . . . . . . . . . . . i will look in the ceiling tomorow, and probably get lost in the cabling thats up there, but i will come back promise:p :) beetle |

Those two combine in grey box bolted on lower down mast. Single lead from that box should arrive somewhere in your second photo maybe at that aerial socket (currently unoccupied?) in the white plate. Or maybe in one of those other black cables. One of them is from the Sky dish and it is likely to be thicker than other cables. The remains of a grey box on the skirting used to contain a splitter to split the VHF/UHF aerial lead into two one for TV beside it and another run to bedroom, study etc. So try attaching your TV aerial input to either: (a) the wall socket (or is that the one you already tried with awful results?) (b) the black lead that pops out from lower down that white plate (c) the other black lead that is off-centre from that white plate(?) (but it's most likely Sky dish) If you can identify the cable that goes through wall or floor to bedroom/study etc then dont bother connecting that at least until you find out which is the real aerial cable. Maybe later you can get a splitter to sort out those other rooms. If none of them work then Id start with a trip up topside to check connections on the two antennae, into the grey box, etc. And theres odd-looking black wire? stuck out on far side of VHF antenna but photo isnt sharp enough to guess what it is. |
