On the 11th of June I paid for same, now 11th of July and still not
in my possession,I enquired why today, seem the deal was so attractive they sold 7000 units and I am #5327,meaning I get mine the end of Aug.

I am not sure I would be happy about that, as they are releasing new ones with better panels and freeview HD built in. I would proably request a refund. These things are only going to drop in price especially as retailers are dumping stock due to the recession.

If you deduct, say $400 for the HD recorder, that means I am paying $1000 for the LCD.
To get LCD with built in Freeview is $2000.
You are right re getting a later model, but I don't think there has been that much progress in the last 6 months.
That is my thinking
If someone can see a fault in thinking re value for money,I would appreciate a word OR two.

Hmmm, is it the TV that is not in possession or the DVD Recorder? Pretty sure it would be the recorder since that deal was very popular, TV stocks on Sony are not so bad that you have to wait anything more than a week or two at the moment. Not so sure about retailers in a hurry to get rid of stock for recession, most will be trying to get rid of old stock because so many new models have come out recently.

Yeah, the new V has everything the old V had + more -> True 24p, Freeview HD built in + a 2 megapixel screen (vs. the old 1 megapixel screen). The W has a wide colour gamut too, but this is only for the size 40" and up, the 32 W is pretty much the same as the 32 V, but somehow it's $100 more. If you haven't received your TV yet, and you don't mind having to pay for a DVD recorder, then you're far better off paying the difference and going for the new sets.

On 2nd thought, maybe not so worth it on a 32" set. The picture is superb on the old 32V as it is, provided you give it a decent signal. Simply because it is a relatively small screen. The savings would be better spent on a PS3 or some cheaper (hopefully) Bluray players coming up later in the year, or even a home theatre system!
