687755 2008-07-11 01:34:00 I bet $50, the culprit gets a sentence greater than any given for murder this year.....though for the life of me, I cant understand why a policemans life is worth anymore than anyone esle's....

Of course, my condolences to the policeman's family and friends. I personally think the bugger should be shot, along with most murderer's

687756 2008-07-11 01:42:00 Wouldn't waste a bullet .

Dress him in black and dangle him off a motorway bridge about a metre off the tarmac in medium-heavy traffic at night in the fog .

A dose of his own medicine . . .

687757 2008-07-11 02:31:00 No, give him to me. I've got homemade bamboo shards and needles. And a big kitchen knife.

Oh, although I need someone to donate me a tying rope and gagging tape.

687758 2008-07-11 02:47:00 I disagree with all of you.
After all the cop was trying to kill the driver. After all it was only a case of car theft. Putting spikes on the road and wrecking the car without a thought about the driver's life should be a criminal offence.
Did the policeman think anyone would stop and get led off to gaol jut because he was laying spikes on the road? He got what he deserved

Apparently not.....I hear charges of kidnapping are being investigated.

Seems the passenger wasn't in the car willingly.

This is only rumour thus far.

But might explain the chase....

687761 2008-07-11 03:04:00 The man arrested today was charged with: aggravated robbery, relating to a carjacking in Tawa; dangerous driving; dangerous driving causing death; failing to stop after an accident; and a charge of kidnapping, relating to the second person in the vehicle, a 16 year old. allblack (6574)

687763 2008-07-11 03:46:00 Road spikes are supposed to deflate the tyres without causing the car to lose control. The spikes break off in the tyre and the air leaks out through a hole up the middle of the spike. PaulD (232)
