687165 2008-07-10 01:49:00 Got a dilemna..

Applying for an IT Uni Graduate role at a BIG nz company, starting in 09

Completed the phone interview stage & basically passed
The testing stage (verbal/numeric) is later this month
Followed by the interview stage (next month) where I would meet other previous graduates & interview for the job itself

A relative is having a wedding overseas which'll be the final big family/relative gathering.
The tickets are booked (my mum & I) and if I don't go, my young brother will take my spot.

This conflicts with the recruitment process schedule for this job,
furthermore if I stayed, the job is not even guaranteed.

What do I do?

Future or Fun?

687166 2008-07-10 02:45:00 Entirely up to you. How important is the job? johcar (6283)
687167 2008-07-10 03:02:00 Well mate it's a good job and it's starting in 2009 so I'm not sure what I'd do because I reckon most grad jobs for 09 will have been placed / recrutied by the time i'm back fatjoez (13761)
687168 2008-07-10 03:12:00 If it's important to you, it's a no-brainer really... johcar (6283)
687169 2008-07-10 03:12:00 Yes, rather a silly question. wratterus (105)

Go to the wedding IMHO
