815195 2009-09-29 11:07:00 Cheers for that, just playing with it now.

There is more than just my computers on the network and I want laptop and desktop to sync. How do I do that without opening up either computer to others? It won't let me sync to a computer over the network if I dont have permission.

I could easily sort it by just giving everyone full access to the folder im syncing but I don't want to do that

815196 2009-09-29 11:23:00 It supports usernames and passwords so maybe you could use password
protected sharing there is an entry in their help files under expert mode.
Sorry I can't be more specific as I use it on a private network:)

PS nice system:cool:

But +1 for syncback if you need more features.

815198 2009-09-30 03:33:00 I have used SmartSync Pro for years. It does it for me. John H (8)
815199 2009-09-30 10:16:00 I use Windows Live Mesh for keeping my PCs in synch

http://www.mesh.com

Install it and if you create a Live Mesh Folder or add an existing directory to your Live Mesh you can tell it to just do peer to peer synching, else it can do that as well as synching your folders into the cloud as well (today limited to 5GB online storage)

Cheers

815200 2009-09-30 20:41:00 Doesn't Hueybot only need syncing over his local network rather than online?

Good Suggestion nonetheless, used to use Mesh and it was great. Didn't seem to support incremental syncing when I tried it though....does it support it now?

815201 2009-09-30 21:07:00 What about auto syncing when you have both devices plugged in like smart phones do? gary67 (56)
