687476 2008-07-11 07:59:00 I had a friend who bought an ipod.It took almost 3 hours to sync all his mp3s into itunes and upload it on her mp3 player

I won't by mp3 players that forces you to use softwares.

That would only happen if she was using USB 1.1 which is slower than a wet week. USB 2.0 only takes a 2-5 minutes for the same amount of files or longer if you are syncing a 15GB+ music collection. Aside from a few cases like the Zune and "supporting" software, software that is developed by the same company that developed the hardware should actually work very smoothly although in the case of your friend the transfer speeds are limited or determined by 3rd party peripherals.

687477 2008-07-11 08:11:00 How can anything work more smoothly then copy/paste.

See if you can follow

Copy/paste

again

Copy/paste

No syncing, No taking over file associates, no setting itself as the default media player, No items in start-up, No damn background services, none of the other bloated invasive crap it does.

Just

copy/paste

BRILLIANT.

687478 2008-07-11 08:21:00 Copy and paste or drag and drop still involves data transfer of files - either of which would be slow if you were using USB 1.1. vitalstatistix (9182)

687480 2008-07-11 08:34:00 Seems like no matter what the topic........ you like to argue...... when sometimes it doesnt matter already.

and if you chat so much on here, do you also chat so much in real life? hopefully those things made dents in your toes, and you have a nice voice to listen to..cos other wise it may become very tiring....... :p

maybe just maybe you should try not posting for a whole day and see how pleasant it can be. no arguments.

What I meant was the amount of time it took to sync all her mp3s in her harddrive to the itune software .Excluding the time it takes to transfer to the device.

Horrible!!I'm gonna buy myself the new creative zen x-fi
