687616	2008-07-19 23:13:00	As for MS doing the reverse and doing ads to rubbish Apple - only time will tell, just because some one wrote an article doesn't mean its going to happen. What would be interesting is if it did happen, and the possible $$$$$$$$$ slander/law suits that some of these huge companies tend to get involved in. I would doubt very much that that kind of advertising would bother Apple. It is more the message that Microsoft is trying to get across about how cool Vista is and how supposedly great it is, I mean, seriously if it was that great then I am pretty sure that all of those people who had purchased PCs with Vista preloaded would have been more than happy to go with Vista instead of asking how to revert back to XP..........<crickets>....oh and don't forget how easy it is to get drivers for Vista....<crickets>... I mean XP is no problems at all but Vista :rolleyes:....... Anyway it is Microsoft's billions so they can spend 'em.	vitalstatistix (9182)

687618	2008-07-19 23:23:00	I haven't had any issues finding drivers for my iMac but I guess that is because I know how to search for them although admittedly not all hardware companies keep up with all of Apple's updates. I gather Apple can be pretty secretive about keeping companies in the loop about its firmware and software updates. They also work at a faster rate than MS.	vitalstatistix (9182)

My neighbor has a MAC,2 months after receiving it, it started freezing, shutting down - its now sitting in his garage amongst a pile of rubbish. He was given it by his son,who said it couldn't do most of the work he was wanting to do. It was only just out of warranty when the problem started - and as he put it - cost to much to have repaired - it was quoted by the apple repair people in wgtn and was told its hardware faults. I know a at least 2 people that threw their MAC's up the dump, something went wrong and the price to get the hardware fixed they could have brought a new One just about. People seem to forget with XP drivers that XP has been around for what - about 7 years approx now. Its NOT MS's fault if the hardware manufactures don't make compatible drivers for a new OS. If they don't keep up with the times they fall behind.	wainuitech (129)
