| 689739 | 2008-07-17 07:13:00 | Just spoke to t/com tech support. I wanted to speak to someone who could tell me the technical max upstream speed on OUR line as we're on a FS/128k plan (not with telecom mind you, but we have a telecom line) and I'd like to know if its worth getting a FS/FS plan for voip. Anyway~, my good friend at Telecom Tech Support in India told me the wonderful news that we can get 100megaBYTES upstream depending on how busy the exchange is. I patiently told him he's quite mistaken and after holding for a few more minutes he then said we could get 3.1megaBYTES upstream :stare:. After a few more attempts at emphasising what I wanted to know, I stopped trying and told him there's quite a difference between bits and bytes. "Good day sir and thank you for calling Telecom" And that was that. |

Yesterday some lovely lady tried to tell me that I was putting the username in wrong, and to run the Xtra setup CD. Kind of hard, I said, when the customer wasn't using an Xtra supplied modem! She then wasn't going to offer support because "We don't support the modem you are using". Turned out she had put the password in wrong at her end, she finally reset it again after me asking about 4 times, and voila, it worked! Silly peoples! 100mbps on copper ftw!!! :D |

I thought you were saying they entered the username wrong |
