The story is from February 2007 and the data is from 2006 and for the majority of that year (till October) Windows Defender was in Beta

I would like to see how it functions in a more up to date test

Ditto. Real world tests are the only thing to do.

I've seen every single PC with Defender running, stuffed with Malware while Defender takes a nap..............
