| 688967 | 2008-07-15 03:39:00 | President Bush lifted a long-standing White House ban (www.latimes.com) Monday on new oil and gas drilling off the nation's coastlines and pressured Congress to take a similar step, stoking the battle over how Washington should respond to high gasoline prices. Bush's decision to lift the executive order imposed by his father in 1990 and renewed by Bill Clinton will have no effect unless Congress cancels its own ban on offshore drilling. But now that the price of gasoline is consistently sitting above $4 a gallon, his action places the possibility of new drilling squarely in the public debate and gives him a political cudgel. |

It's painful . :crying A quick computation says that youse guys are paying $6 . 346/US gallon . . . . and that's pretty bad . Fortunately youse guys don't drive like we have to . Today I drove over 112 miles to a friend's jobsite in the next town to help him pull some wire under a house and through some walls . I'm retired and don't even have to work and I get to drive distances like that . Unfortunately the US is spread out pretty far and wide . We have no real public transportation and if we did it would only run at 2 AM or when there's no need to be where they go at the time they run if they even went there in the first place . It sux big ones here to be without a car or at least a cannon to shoot you where you need to go . |

Yup, as soon as I finish all these maddening MySQL queries, I'm gonna invent a personal teleportation device!! :D Imagine that - pop over to Boston's North End for some linguine fra diavolo, and back again in time for Outrageous Fortune!!! (sorry - it's been a mad day . . . my brain is porridge!) |

(sorry - it's been a mad day . . . my brain is porridge!) You need to really invent one of those gadgets (The 2 big levers) that were in the last? double episode of Dr Who . Where Rose Tyler almost gets sucked into the parallel universe and is separated from the Dr . by her Dad . So sad!! Great idea - name your price :banana :banana |

Just doing 300km a day over the last 40 week's has even worn the steering wheel out, plus a few joints as well . :D :D |
