Could be a million things..

You haven't limited your upload have you?

Is someone else downloading something?

Have you done your port forwards correctly?

817151 2009-10-05 22:17:00 Once I was downloading a video file off bit torrent and it was going slow (about 10-15kbps) and I was being impatient so I turned off DHT (I have no idea what it does) and bravo, the video was maxing out at around 60kbps (my max broadband speed). I'm not sure if doing this is advisable but it worked for me :). davidmmac (4619)

Thats very weird...

Have you checked if you port forwarded correctly?

Is DHT showing as firewalled?

DHT is good when a public tracker is down, allows you to download "trackerless"

Not good if you're on a private tracker though...

It was a public tracker :).

I do remember having a yellow exclamation mark at the bottom of the window of the client (BitTorrent) which asked me to check my firewall. I did and made sure BitTorrent was unblocked. Didn't work, but no matter, the file finished :).
