688856	2008-07-19 03:35:00	Thank you all for your input and help, lots of thinking to do i guess . . . . . . . . . . . and see if i can find some pink batts . . . . :stare: and install it with not too much probs . . . . . . . . . and the merits of each system has points but id say it comes down to cost being the biggest point in favour right now, and if it does half of what the guys on here say, it can only be better than what we dont have now . . . . . . and that is warmth, and better air . . . . thanks beetle	beetle (243)
688857	2008-07-19 08:26:00	Hi Wainuitech, I guess priorities are also depending what is your interest and what you do for living. As a computer professional you would not be happy with computer hardware which is not up to date anymore or not performing good enough for your standards. You would say it is too slow or no good because you know there is something much better and faster out there...while I as an ordinary user would say it work perfect for me... Building is what I am in for a long time and like you I want to use the best of my knowledge what is available and nothing else and being in that business I know where to source what I want at a cost I can afford it..... 688858	2008-07-19 08:57:00	I never used to be always in computers, I used to work for rail ways, building and renovating trains, both the Loco's and carriages . Some of the contaminants in those are deadly,I do know all about the dangers of air born substances and the damage they can do . I know several of my ex work mates are now very sick because they never took enough precautions . One I know has Isocyanate Poisoning , others suffer from breathing difficulty's due to not wearing the protective equipment supplied . As the saying goes " touch Wood" my health is fine apart from partly bad hearing in one ear, the Mrs calls it selective hearing sometimes - but I got papers to say its real ( when it suits :p ;) ) As a computer professional you would not be happy with computer hardware which is not up to date anymore or not performing good enough for your standards . :lol: Well my PC's are not exactly top of the line, what I want and what I can afford are two different things - most of the PC's around here are P4's 3 . 0 or 3 . 2, with 1 -1 . 5 Gb RAM . I build PC's for people that I would love to own, BUT I don't do gaming (no Time) - and the machines I got run Xp and vista well enough for our uses . All in all its still good to have every ones views / opinions / experiences . When dealing with Batts, I always wear a mask, and if I'm up in the ceiling as well .	wainuitech (129)
688859	2008-08-23 07:16:00	Ok update . . . . . . . . . . . . I have done about 50 meters worth of batts . . . . . . . . . . . itchy scratchy stuff, and the ceiling is hot and sweaty like . but its not as hard as i thought . i have about half my house done . due to pick up more ( the other half) of the horid stuff next week . . . . . . and i managed that in about 2 hours . . . . . . . had lots of tips and ideas of how to do this, and got overals from my mum that were my dads, and bought some paper masks, and wore rubber gloves, next time id suggest gloves with liners, cos the wet sticky feeling when the gloves come on and off is yuk . . . . . . . but i did it . . . . . . . . . . . . and all the people who said ill help, . . . . . . . . . yeah right a new tui add . . . . lol see a beetle can do anything . . . . . . . :p beetle	beetle (243)

Mets you are a sweetie............. yes he gave me a good deal. seems he did what you said and the price is the same........ and he kept asking and asking did i think it was fair.... so maybe he afraid of you:p and the help is from family, and nah never expected them to front up anyway. i may need a real tradesperson to reroof my verandah with that plastic corrogated stuff, but im sure i can wack on some tin on me fence when i get some...
