Works fine for me. ;)Yeah, before I did more study (and learnt how to pronounce the 'r' properly), a Maori workmate of mine told me that pronouncing the 'r' as a 'd' is an acceptable way around it for those who have trouble with the 'r' sound :) BTW Jamuz, so what is today? and how did it go? |

| 689460 | 2008-07-17 08:17:00 | Hmmm... the facilitator and the team said I have performed the Mihi and the closing ceremony really well, but I felt that my voice was a bit shaky due to nervousness. In addition, the last minute changes made to my Mihi gave me some confusion when I did it, resulting in the pronunciation of the phrase "tena korua" into "tena koutou" - but nobody noticed that :p Anyway, thanks again to all for the replies :) |

| 689462 | 2008-07-17 09:46:00 | Congrats Jamuz Speaking from experience, standing in front of a crowd speaking Te Reo Maori is a scary experience; where anything can go wrong. When I attended my last hui rumaki (total immersion Te Reo Maori, no english to be spoken) at Otaki, I froze for what seemed like forever part way through my whaikorero (I had forgotten what I was going to say next  ). I managed to remember, and finished it, but yeah, total scary moment. (It was our last test, which we had to pass... I did thankfully) Again, well done, and as Jen said, well done for researching prior to the event :D |
