| 816656 | 2009-10-03 23:52:00 | On one of my computers the 5 year old C: keeps corrupting so I went out and brought a brand new hard drive to replace it with. I couldn't even boot into the old drive so I just installed Win XP on the new drive, plugged the old drive which still works in as a slave in an attempt to grab all the useful files off it. Is there an automated program I can use which is smart/configurable enough to grab all my settings, favourites, programs etc, and ignore common OS files that don't need to be copied over? |

If the old drive can still do it, you could image it with a program such as DriveImageXML, Macrium Reflect or Acronis and then load the image onto your new drive. Blam |
