816387 2009-10-03 06:25:00 My parents are sick of us busting our cap (already 20GB), and are considering Big Time, and since it's the same price as what we're paying now ($60), there's not much holding us back. I realise speeds are managed (though they can't be worse than our current dial-up speed - despite not busing our cap).

Big Time - should we get it?

816388 2009-10-03 06:42:00 It seems that its great for some, with only a minute speed difference from their old plan, but worse for some.

Only way to find out is to try it!

Only takes a few minutes to switch online:)

816389 2009-10-03 07:14:00 And if it's not good enough, how easy is it to change back to Vodafone? ;) pcuser42 (130)
816390 2009-10-03 07:16:00 Ah well then you would be breaking your new 24 month telecom contract, if it is 24 months they make you sign which i think it is, probably cost $199 to break then have to sign a new deal with Vodafone probably 24 month as well with similar cost involved if you broke that one as well gary67 (56)

I think if it's not good enough we'll just change plans.

Do your Parents pay for the ISP?
Do your Parents download heaps and thus going over the cap?
When you say US I assume that includes all people who have access to the ISP you use currently.

If the whole place needs more than 20 Gb per month then who is using the data.

I was on a 20Gb plan with Xtra and realised I was not using that much per month so why pay for it. Stayed with Xtra and now have 3 Gb per month and a price that suits me.

Go get what the whole family wants I guess.

816394 2009-10-03 09:50:00 Ah well, I'm gonna on Monday so as soon as they hook me up I'll let you know.

Got another email from TiVo, so I'm signing up in anticipation, and that's the main deciding factor.

I *will* be pissed if VoIP calls suffer, or Gaming too... So I'm gonna see if I can get an out / clause in the 12 month contract if it sucks...

Dad pays for the ISP, however both our old plan and Big Time cost the same. ;)

My brother and I use most of the data :xmouth:
