817915 2009-10-07 23:45:00 So glad I took a look at it.
Firstly how dare it try to bundle sucky Toolbars.

Remove this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\ProtexisLicensing]

Delete the following files:
%windir%\System32\PSIService.exe
%windir%\System32\PSIKey.exe

PSIService is part of Protexis DRM. It uses its service to gather licensing information to send home among other things.
To make matter worse, it may make PC boots up slower. Besides, PSIService.exe does not uninstall together with the application that installed it, when the application is uninstalled and removed.

I see the basic idea, but no, spyware is spyware, malicious or not.

Yes it did. The install box had several choices, the main program, some trial versions of other programs and the toolbar. OK it was an option. Still annoys me that they bundle it.

And I know what DRM is thank you. I don't care what their excuse is, I do not like snoopy hidden files installed on my PC hogging resources no matter how little - the program has a serial - they don't need spyware bundled with it as well.

817919 2009-10-08 19:20:00 this took all of 30seconds to verify

en.wikipedia.org

"this program communicates with a remote host and is described in some posts as spyware.[citation needed] The Corel EULA does not reveal that installation of Version XI or X2 will result in the installation and continued background execution of this non-Corel program."

"Uninstalling XI or X2 will not uninstall PSIService.exe"

817920 2009-10-08 19:45:00 Well guess someone was wrong. PSIservice doesnt exist on this, even tho I've uninstalled it. There are no services belong to PSP either (under services). Even if it wont uninstall, remove it manually Speedy Gonzales (78)
817921 2009-10-08 22:22:00 Its easy to remove.
Its also NOT the point.

You all go ahead and keep legal spyware though.
Me, I like my PC to myself.
