817568 2009-10-06 21:05:00 My Sony Vaio VGN-NS15G ethernet card suddenly stopping working, it continually says a network cable is not plugged in, when it is. I have removed the driver, tried different cables, even changed sites to see if i could get it to work. Its detected in Device manager, and says theres no problem. What can i do to make it work? Its not under warranty anymore aidanmaz (7180)
817569 2009-10-06 22:51:00 Boot up in a boot cd such as a linux live CD and see if it works.

Just to determine whether the problem is hardware related or not..

817571 2009-10-07 20:50:00 Not sure if that can be repaired if it is faulty. If you dont have wireless than you might have to get on of www.trademe.co.nz to stay connected. Its a USB to Ethernet adapter. Hope this helps. ronyville (10611)

Don't get the USB>Ethernet adapter...USB is not reliable when it comes to networking, and is slower too.
