817396 2009-10-30 22:01:00 I would like the search feature to allow searching on post Titles only.
In generally the search feature here is not very good.
More choices needed on what to search, and how to display results.

817397 2009-10-30 23:41:00 Click Search --> Advanced Search. It's the first drop-down box on the top-left ;) Chilling_Silence (9)
817398 2009-11-01 03:55:00 How about something on the lines of a "solved" indicator as used on this site PCAdvisor (www.pcadvisor.co.uk) the tick on the envelope indicates the problem is solved. TeejayR (4271)
817399 2009-11-01 04:01:00 Some useful looking ideas on there but the posts are so small to read, if it wasn't for that I might consider joining them gary67 (56)

817402 2009-11-02 19:24:00 What about a solved check box or tick of some sort that the originator of the thread can tick so searchers can immediately see if the thread they are about to open is solved?? would save time reading threads that arent.... if you are searching for a specific topic Gobe1 (6290)

817404 2009-11-03 02:38:00 Possibly split the help by operating systems or train users to actually put as much info as they are able to into the original question.

Perhaps we all, when requesting help, should start with the O/S in the title because there is many a time where I think the user has a certain rig and O/S contained in the sig and only to discover that he/she is helping the boss or the mate down the road.

817405 2009-11-20 04:18:00 I think tagging functionality would solve the searching issue. If users were able to tag like: "canon, printer, windows xp home, driver" or "windows vista, internet explorer, error" then it would be easy to create a sort of category system (ooh and have pre-loaded tags such as Windows XP Home, Windows XP Pro" as well as custom to avoid confusion and spelling differences).

Further to this, threads could then be viewed by tag for searching and maybe a sort of newsfeed of all the threads (like facebook) so that frequent users would still be able to check out the latest issues.
