2008-07-25 01:06:00 | Not only did I meet Bruce Buckman a few years ago by shear chance, I just discovered today that a man who is helping me (with some personal issues) is PressF1 contributor Pctek's father! How cool is that.

2008-07-25 01:46:00 | My missus went to Uni in Dunedin for part of her tertiary education. She still spots people on the street in Auckland and goes "they're from Dunedin". A few years back she also ran into the brother of her best friend while on a tube train in London.

2008-07-25 02:42:00 | I once ran into a friend from Uni while at a coffee shop in Copenhagen having lunch with a Danish friend who came to NZ as a student. Within a few weeks of this, while in London at the start or end (can't remember which) of that European trip, I bumped into an Iranian who I went to school with while I was in Bahrain in the late 70's!

2008-07-25 02:48:00 | When I visited the beerfest in Munich in 1983 (wow, that's a long time ago!) I was standing near the bandstand in the aisle, drinking (a Hofbrauhaus no-no, strictly speaking) and I got a tug on my elbow. Turned around and it was a girl I used to play tennis with 10-12 years earlier (when we were kids). I hadn't seen her since we had last played tennis!! | johcar (6283) | |
2008-07-25 06:05:00 | When my wife arrived in NZ from UK in 1974 she was sitting next to a fellow who was returning from his OE. She met and became very friendly with his mother, Mrs R, who was a teacher. I met and married my wife the next year and we bought our house with no thought as to where our children would go to school. We just happened to buy in the zone for the school where Mrs R taught and she taught both our children. My wife would have called him silly if he had said, on the plane, that his mother would teach our, yet to be born, children.
