| 693564 | 2008-07-30 05:48:00 | Hi Guys Sorry to be so dumb. But I am renting a nice house (built in the 70's I think). I cannot find the electricity meter. I have found the fuse box which is in the laundry. But no sign of a revolving meter. I would like to watch it go round and read the figures sometimes. It is not in the hall or in the garage ? Any suggestions ? |

Very popular install option for the power companies in the late 70's and early 80's in lower socio-economic areas (they could pull the plug on non-payers without having to go on the property - those areas often have/had dogs, the bane of meter readers) | johcar (6283) | ||
| 693570 | 2008-07-30 08:51:00 | Thanks for all the suggestions. I have been here fro a year or so, so have had a few bills ! There are two houses, identical front and back of the section, separated by some grass. Mine is the back one. I will go outside tomorrow and have a look round if it is not raining too much. I will also check the front as you suggest. I suppose I could ask my front neighbour but she is in her 80's. |

| 693573 | 2008-07-30 22:25:00 | Good news The wind died down so I went to the front of my neighbours house, she is the front house of our two houses on the same section. And there on her front brick wall are two boxes ! One has two meters in it and one has some other white electrical thing in it. So I will check them out to see which is mine (it must be the one with the thing going round fast compared to the other one (hers?) which is going real slow. Thanks for the help |
