I'll give you the benefit of the doubt . ;) Napier is there . . . Just cunningly concealed behind the rain and the trees . Just had another look at the webcam site . Hasn't changed at all . I do a morning run in a school van and I was down to 50kph on the expressway because of the wind and rain . The wind was whipping the surface water up so it was like driving behind a huge truck . Wipers flat out - wind blowing the van all over the road . Worst weather I have driven in for many years . Ken |

They have nice roads and not that much traffic. We have much more traffic, and crap roads. It all comes down to how forward thinking the council is. Neither of ours think past their next pay check. :groan: |

Neither of ours think past their next pay check . :groan: Back in the 50's when Napier got the OK to build the main HB airport, Hasting agreed under sufferance, only if a motorway was built between the twin cities . It was finally completed this year . Quick work eh? We have lot of traffic . Our population base of the two cities adds up to 120,000 . It sometimes seems that most Napier people work in Hastings, and most Hastings people work in Napier . As an Aucklander who moved here in 1963, I have never been able to figure out the parochialism between the two cities . I feel we would have far more clout it we were named Hawkes Bay City with suburbs of Napier, Hastings etc . Ken |
