819406 2009-10-11 23:40:00 Hi,
I have changed from Outlook Express to Windows live
I quite like the new one and it is a bit faster
BUT I cannot find where to set "empty Email after download"
I,e
I have to go back into the webmail site and manually delete all that I had done -the e mails concerned are in shadow by this time
It is OK in having to do this but I dread deleting an e mail that comes in as I do it and gets caught up and deleted
Can somebody show me where such a setting is
Outlook Express deleted all auomatically after download

819408 2009-10-12 03:08:00 Hi Linw,
Now I am in the pooh, I reset my sever to Tigertech and then it would not accept my password
did a systems restore and got my mail back
BUT it would appear that I did not set the default as you call it- of deleting downloaded messages
So now I need that to be resfrom where?
should I reinstall Windows Live?

819409 2009-10-12 03:42:00 Forget what I posted Speedy Gonzales (78)
819410 2009-10-12 03:55:00 Hi Speedy
???
What did you post
Still cannot see where a setting ---"deleting mail on the server" after I downloaded mail ito my inbox

Tigertech appear to go round in circles-they offer to retain my e mail on the server but won't give a definitive answer to correct what according to Linw should have been automatic default on install
May be me of course- perhaps I am more senile than I thought

819411 2009-10-12 05:00:00 Hi,
Just had a reply from the firm tigertech.com who concede that what I wanted was not in their standard computer generated replies
I have just found a check mark missing in the delete on delivery button which had been in shadow and is now alive- now I hope it works
Thanks all
