| 819309 | 2009-10-11 09:16:00 | Hey I was wondering what would be the best way to get a legal copy of the original xp home and pro install disks with no service packs? Have to help people reinstall pcs often and so far all of the codes with their pcs are for sp 1/2/3 and have disks for those but not for original xp before service packs. Knowing my luck some day I will need one and I wont have it. | nedkelly (9059) | ||

XP Pro is a little more fussy, you'd be better off keeping SP2 and SP3 disks handy. As for where to source them legally - well. Copying them is technically illegal, so downloading them shouldn't be any worse. The key is the important part anyway, not the disk. Disk is useless without the key. I'd either find some original disks and get copying, or get googling. Hopefully I won't be getting banneding for that.. :p | wratterus (105) | ||
