818639 2009-11-15 03:51:00 Oh well, format it / do a clean install, that'll fix it Speedy Gonzales (78)
818640 2009-11-22 23:31:00 ahahah well that probably will do the trick.

818641 2009-12-05 18:19:00 The other computers with XP Pro, do this:

Go to start/run, type gpedit.msc.

Click on the + beside computer config. Double click on admin templates, click on QOS packet scheduler. Double click on limit reserve bandwidth / settings. Click on enabled. Change it to 0. Then click on OK. Exit group policy, reboot. It should be a LOT faster. What this does is (what you may have been experiencing). It limits the bandwidth to what ever is networked. Disabling it, removes it

I too found this thread while googling for "End Program - n" and problems with uploading (I can't upload anything). I tried the above to no avail. It may be somewhat faster, I'm not sure, but I have the same "End Program - n" problem.

I DL'ed a HJT executable and ran it, here is the log:

818644 2009-12-08 02:51:00 Cool. Yup there's heaps of people with this pros, but there's no fix for it. Could be some kind of bug in whatever program Speedy Gonzales (78)
818645 2009-12-13 22:28:00 Thanks for your advice . I still get that "- n -" thing, but it's good to know that there apparently has been no hijack . Still, it's weird that nobody can do anything about this "- n -" thing - I mean, short of reformatting, which is like saying we have to amputate a leg to get rid of a rash on the knee .

What could be the cause? CTRL - ALT - DEL shows no such program running, and a search doesn't find it . How can that be? Is there any relevance to the previous problem where "End Program nsAppShell:EventWindow" showed up under similar circumstances? At least I was able to find out that that program is associated with FireFox . But " -n -"? Very frustrating .

818646 2009-12-15 07:16:00 Just a casual observation, AVG seems a common entry in the logs, might be worthwhile swapping AVs for a trial? PPp (9511)
