| 693421 | 2008-07-30 03:02:00 | Telecom's Help(less) Service regularly denies there are any known network problems long after the event has been demonstrated. | R2x1 (4628) | ||
| 693422 | 2008-07-30 03:04:00 | This story about losing 1500 NZ jobs is false, and they are not infact doing this at all. www.nzherald.co.nz Bollocks they moved the Xtra helpdesk offshore (no idea why people are still with them), now they are dipping there toes in the water further to see if there will be a big stink. It will depend on the feedback they get. I am with Telstra for phone and Cable internet, no use me complaining I demonstrated my liking of Telecom business practices long ago by walking. |

Their dial up was moved, and some broadband. However the rest (which is most of it) is still NZ. Vodafone has all there mobile support in Egypt, and you are kidding yourself if you think Telstra won't move their offshore soon too. Telstras support was bad when I was with them, as it is very difficult to get through to a real person without being put on hold for half and hour. |

Telecom is a company originally made from my tax dollars and government protected, i expect more from them than Vodafone, two wrong don't = right so not buying into that argument. 400 Jobs already offshore and MORE 'testing' occurring, there intentions are pretty dam clear lol Why test if you have no intention of moving more offshore, there denial press release is a joke |

Once you sell something you don't have any ownership rights over it after you have sold it, even though the Labour Government has made things pretty difficult for them in recent years. If unbundling didn't occur, then they wouldn't need to cut costs as much, and we could base all support in NZ, however someone has to pay for the decreases revenues that competition can bring. Many companies are subcontracting overseas, banks, manufacturing the list goes on etc. It is more the sign of the times and NZs weak economy rather than something isolated to telecommunciations companies. If you want to use a company that only uses NZ call centres, then you do have a choice to switch, although you will probably pay more, or have inferior non 24x7 support. |

But that's another story entirely. |

Whatever, defend Telecom to play devil advocate if it floats your baot. However they have already outsourced hundreds of jobs and looking to do more clearly, otherwise they would not be testing would they? You may Tolerate poor cooperate behavior, the rest of us don't have to. |

| 693428 | 2008-08-06 06:31:00 | Why not oursource the CEO and save several millions all in one go and only one person on the dole ! Should be able to get one for 20K ! And will the price of calls to mobiles drop by half ? |

| 693429 | 2008-08-06 08:13:00 | Even if I paid taxes on Telecom doesn't give me the right to have them the way I want them for the rest of my life, yup they are sold, the govt gained and then spent on other stuff ...... who knows maybe like the rail they would buy Telecom back .. maybe BNZ, Tower Insurance, AirNZ ....... If Telecom does not find ways to compete, it would be eaten up ... by others. I was on the bus and some were saying, that soon enough 7-11 would come in and open convenience stores and the rumour is that Caltex thought of selling their manned stores and left it as a petrol pump only ...... |
