693466 2008-07-29 23:28:00 When I last got my hair cut, the moment I sat in the barbers chair my left eye started itching. It got worse and tears started running down my cheek from it. I had to rub it a couple of times. It stayed like that all the while I was in the chair. As soon as I got out of the shop it slowly came right and after 5 minutes I had forgotten all about it.

693467 2008-07-30 00:11:00 I get this from time to time.

Toes start to itch and swell. Fingers itch and swell. Lips itch and swell. (not all at the same time)

I think nothing of it and is gone the next day.

693468 2008-07-30 02:05:00 If you were to consult with me I would suggest a mild allergic reaction. It's very difficult to trace the reason for it, so I would keep a close watch on your food when this happens again.

693469 2008-07-30 03:18:00 I have a feeling that... this is beyond a chemist's (pharmacist's) knowledge.

Do tell us what the doctor says, moosecannon (if you are comfortable with telling).

Cheers :)

693470 2008-07-30 06:01:00 You can develop allergies as you get older. Getting a Doctor to test for allergies is a tough one also, they normally tell you to eat/don't eat various things and test the problem yourself. Bantu (52)
693471 2008-07-30 06:29:00 Shower, wheatbix and protein shake could all be sources of allergic reactions. GoodHour (12218)
693472 2008-07-30 07:17:00 One of my lips swelled up a while back. It was massive, I couldn't talk.

Any chance of telling me what caused that? Mebbe I could get some for SWMBO.

693473 2008-07-30 20:19:00 Kenj, you're really itching for it, hey? If your SWMBO sees your post, I would think it will be your lips, and eyes, that will be swollen shut.

Now where's the email address of Mrs. Kenj *mutter*

LOL

693475 2008-07-31 00:36:00 Give a call to Healthline. Its paid by all us taxpayers so go on and make the most of it! You get a qualified nurse on the end of the line all 24 hours of the day who can recommend whether or not your should consult a doctor. I've used it a few times and never had to wait more than a few rings to get answered by an actual real nurse (not a computer called "Kelly" or other irritating answering system...)

The number is 0800 611 116
