818948 2009-10-10 04:25:00 I just got a Belkin 5 port network switch, model F5D5131-5, that I wanted to plug into my Linksys WRTP54G, wireless router . Well I did and it does not work . The connected PCs (to the Belkin Switch) do not have a connection to the internet or the local network . Nor do they get an IP address from the DHCP Linksys router .

Any ideas on how to make it work?

Are there some special settings that I need to make on the Linksys router to get it to work with the Belkin switch?

818949 2009-10-10 14:03:00 Any chance of somebody commenting on this? I know I'm new to the forum, as you all were once, but I would appreciate the help. Thanks! shoeheel (15337)
818950 2009-10-10 14:22:00 I'd just call Linksys up and ask them if any settings need to be changed. They're extremely quick and helpful. beeswax34 (63)
818951 2009-10-10 18:48:00 Do PCs work if they're plugged into the Linksys router directly? What port have you plugged the switch into, on the router?

Since that Belkin switch is just a switch, you shouldn't need to change anything - it should "just work".

818952 2009-10-10 19:48:00 What was previously giving out IP Addresses? Have you configured your details in the Linksys router?

First step would be to do a factory reset of the WRTP54g.

I went to the linksys website, did a search, came up with this:
linksys.custhelp.com 3Jvd19jbnQ9NjAsNjAmcF9wcm9kcz0wJnBfY2F0cz0xNzIxLDE 3MjMmcF9wdj0mcF9jdj0yLjE3MjMmcF9zY2ZfNj0xJnBfcGFnZ T0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9V1JUUDU0Zw!!&p_li=&p_topview=1

Unsure if the link will work when you click on it, but basically if you search for WRTP54g, there's a page "Getting to Know the WRTP54G". It may be of use.
