| 694230 | 2008-08-02 03:22:00 | Hi Guys I have been a loyal AVG anti-virus user for the last 8 or 9 years. (the free one anyway). I keep getting bombarded that I should upgrade my 7.5 to 8, and inspite of suggestions on this forum that it sucked I thought that I would give it a go. You will imagine my frustration when I clicked on Upgrade that I get taken to their version 8.00 full program with all the rest eg anti-spam, firewall etc and it is the pay version ! Then I had a hunt around their web site and I found what I though was the free version of 8.00 and downloaded it only to find that it was 29 day trial version. So I am sorry AVG you have lost me ! I will now try Avaast as many of you suggest. If AVG had made their web site easier to navigate and made it clear that it was a trial version, then I would not have been so upset. I remember years ago spending ages trying to find the free version of AVG on their web site, it was hidden way down in many sub pages. Of course being a loyal user of their free program is not much use to them financially, but I think I could do a better job of marketing their pay versions. Pctek take note. I will let you all know how my invention gets on soon. |
