Pushing the trolly means you get a nice quiet stroll around the supermarket, don't have to worry about filling the damn thing up, and yet she can't claim you weren't any help. She forgot the mustard? Not your fault, you were busy pushing the trolly ...

695289 2008-08-07 03:33:00 What? no prizes... damn (en.wikipedia.org)

Because I know there are some fairly long memories out there, but top marks for being the one and only.

Ken: There's a smart bastard in every crowd!:groan: Love your father's saying. They most certainly are! Not only that, you are obviously a dirty old man! I have always been told that I am only allowed to look, as well.

My father used to quote his father: "Son, you'll never figure wimmen out, but it's fun trying.":D

Speak for yourselves. Somebody put a bullet in me if I ever reach this pit of servitude.

Perhaps you are new to this marriage lark. Some of us have had many years of marital combat experience and realise when it's better not to resist but to beat a strategic retreat.

695290 2008-08-07 03:59:00 I watched a couple of ole peeps in Wal-Mart a few days ago...and they were in an area that sells the Handyperson's useless tools and household hammers-that-break and screwdrivers-that-don't section.

Anyway...the old guy picks up a wrench (spanner in NZ-speak) and the old broomstick says: "Put that down. You don't need THAT!"

"Yes, snuggles" he sheepishly said.

I wanted to test how far the wrench would penetrate before it broke for him.

..................sigh! :(

695293 2008-08-08 16:58:00 Husbands are a strange breed indeed, why? is all I can ask.

I know there are a couple here that have had a few decades of toture, but c'mon, how many really wanted it?

695294 2008-08-08 20:05:00 Not as bad as all the lads standing outside fashion shops waiting patiently while their chick is inside browsing stupid sods should just walk off

actually I LIKE goin shoppin......(strangely enough) however I'll GUARANTEE that if those clothes shops etc which my wife likes to trawl had BARS inside em they'd make a LOT more money !!!

My excuse (after two and a bit decades): I was lured by the promise/thought of sex-on-demand (without having to invest in a dinner and a movie) for the rest of my natural life.

Didn't take long to destroy those illusions!!!

On the shopping note, I do the grocery shopping every week (and like R2x1 says, it's the emptying of the trolley before leaving the store that really hurts). I volunteered to to this when my kids were little - an ideal opportunity to look like a hero (doing a tedious job) while getting some quality alone-time.

And like kenj says, an ideal opportunity to check out the chicks (I might grow older, but I'll never grow up!) while still getting some me-time!
