694751 2008-08-04 05:49:00 It does mention it - What version do you have ? Pre 3.0 ( 2.7) would pop up with ONE warning that you have X number of days till it expires, most people either read it and go - I'll sort that later - then forget, or the more common event is they click it, don't read it and then go what was that I just clicked and said OK to  I see that ALL THE TIME.

One other way it warns you is if you purchased it - you will get a reminder in an email stating you have so many more days till it expires, usually 30 days, then another with two weeks to go, unless you have already renewed it.

So the person WAS told/warned.

The latest version 3.0.XXX has what I call a green eye in the icon tray, approx a month before it expires you start getting warnings almost daily, it also changes colour from green to orange, then finally red when it expires.
I have 2.7,Rob is updating in next day or so,just that I wouldn't have known unless he mentioned, was the same last year, with luck as you stated it may show next year.

694752 2008-08-04 05:56:00 I can send you reports on knackered files if you like, I see plenty. Although its malware in general rather than specifically viruses.
I suppose most are not au fait with all the things constantly talked about on here.
And therefore are not prepared.

None the less we used to hear of virus attacks going round the world quite often.

Well, I just cannot decide between "Tui Ad" and "Epic Fail".

694754 2008-08-07 00:32:00 I decided to try out the 2009 beta for fun, it certainly installs fast and runs pretty well but while there are some improvements I still think the user interface and options/settings reached their peak in the 2005 products and then just went downhil from there. and they're still wallowing in a ditch.

What I mean is that about 5 seconds after opening the 'settings' menu I wanted to stab myself in the face.

It seems good at getting rid of things, upon installation it had removed registry entires and files for a "hacktool" and then deleted a "virus" - but refused to tell me what exactly these were, what they were doing and the worst part - never asked me what I wanted, but just deleted them by itself and as far as I can tell (but may be wrong) there was no option to turn this off, or to set it to "ask me what to do" or anything along those lines

So mixed feelings. it does seem faster, but it also seems less configurable. maybe (hopefully) they will fix that for the final release. I still won't be buying it though, not if I can help it.

Waiting patiently for Comodo AntiVirus 3.....
