| 820374 | 2009-10-14 06:52:00 | Here you go - a comment  The remix as they call it is on the October 2009 APC magazine DVD. Designed to run from a flash drive: Installation instructions 1. Grab a USB key/flash drive. Be sure to verify that your computer supports booting from the flash device you have selected for installation. Many computers can boot from a USB drive, and some from other sources. Check the documentation on your specific model for the procedure to boot from the selected device. Also: warning - this will destroy all data on your USB device. Please back up all data to other media before doing this. 2. Save the Ubuntu Netbook Remix .img file to your hard drive. 3. Save the Disk Imager ZIP file to your hard drive and unarchive it. 4. Insert your flash media (USB stick). Note the drive letter assigned to your flash media. 5. Start Disk Imager by double-clicking the .exe file (after you have unarchived the ZIP). 6. In Disk Imager, select the Ubuntu Netbook Remix .img file and target device and click "Write". Remove your flash media when the operation is complete. 7. Now, shut down your computer, reinsert the flash key and reboot (opting to boot from the flash key when prompted). |
