821379 2009-10-17 04:31:00 hey

i want to know what type of HDD enclosures are out that can be used for media players as well.

i want one that i can carry to and fro from my house an bach and just plug into a stereo.

and another question

dont know if anyone would be able to help me

i would preferably like to be able to make a small screen for it say at most 4 inches that i can use to scroll and choose folders or whatever to pick what to play

just wondering if there are any HDD media players like that or would there be an easy way to build this.

also anyone ever come across HDD car headunits that i could adapt to this purpose

looking to run a 500 gb HDD and would like it to run MP3 and WMA capabilities or just MP3s

thanks

Rod

Not sure if this can display music folders on its screen:

821383 2009-10-18 04:39:00 yeah thought about using a netbook or an old laptop but would like to just carry one piece of equipment

and also noticed that one on trademe i am also looking at this one

would like to know if it is any good

tho it doesnt have a screen

i have thought about making a screen from mobile phone screen and modify that so it would connect to the VGA anyone know if or how it could be done

821384 2009-10-18 04:42:00 Just do what I did - buy a netbook and a 500GB laptop hard drive and swap it out with the 160GB drive that came with the netbook.

Sell that on TradeMe for $60-$80 and recoup some of your costs.
