821334 2009-10-17 02:26:00 So.... I seem to have inserted an incorrect size SD card into the SD card slot on my HP laptop. It's a little too small and has gone right inside and during my attempts to retrieve it I have wedged it further in. It didn't look too small but clearly it is.

Other than pouring water in there and try to float it out, any suggestions?

821336 2009-10-17 02:34:00 I did this with my desktop. so not all of this may apply to you.

First... Unplug everything from the desktop.

Pull out. Face so card reader is on ground. Gently shake, (more of a wiggle)

Get more frustrated.

Stop, have a beer.

Have another go.

Have another beer. While on way back from getting beer, notice card on ground. Pick up.

821337 2009-10-17 02:41:00 Use a very fine pair of tweezers and carefully extract it. You should be able to get them from pharmacies or similar. somebody (208)

821339 2009-10-17 03:22:00 Use a paper clip, straighten it, then use a double-sided tape wrap around the tip of the paper clip, insert it into the slot and take out the card.

Good luck.

Speedy Gonzales, I'd like to hear your points on how your comment about it's a laptop not a desktop helped. Do the card reader bays differ?
