820997 2009-10-15 20:29:00 Hi,

After having to consult this forum on the above program, this week --I thought everything was hunky dory
Today I get a 34 e mail from hotmail -My default is ordinary mail-
I get repeats in my default server,I get the over all total of e mails show-- 3 e mail but 36 in junk
Unless I have a very serious explanation- I am reverting to Outlook express
I search for trojans etc every week-with spybot and Malwarebytes,I have a very good antivirus program--ESET

Can anybody suggest anything-including a re install of the lot, or accept the fact that XP Pro cannot handle the program ( it says it is for XP onwards?
:(:mad::crying

820998 2009-10-15 20:37:00 Usually if you get repeat mails its either the full amount has not downloaded from the server, hence it repeats, or there is a server problem with the ISP / Mail server.

Easy way - log into the web mail, clear the lot ( that you dont want) - make sure its completely empty.

The 36 in junk could be spam.

BTW - Windows Live mail does work perfectly on XP Pro.

820999 2009-10-15 20:49:00 Hi wainui
Nope all those in Spam have been normal even to getting ESET warning that one contains a virus ( headed-- Microsoft has 6 updates but a private e mail address- I deleted this yesterday- and now it came back
I am skype talk to Smithie 38 as I type and my chess moves have multiplied to 7
I quite liked Live mail should I re install

821000 2009-10-15 21:00:00 Totally up to you if you want to reinstall the lot ( seems a bit of an over kill though) maybe uninstall WLM and reinstall it - I loaded in Windows Live mail the other day onto workshop a XP Pro PC to test out the avatar problem, and apart from the usual 40+ crap a day I get on that testing account I have with paradise, (even made up a live account - and that got spammed within minutes) - but it works fine.

No cheating on the chess OK :D

821001 2009-10-15 21:21:00 Hi Wainui

Nah, effie does not cheat. We normally have four games going at the same time and a few days ago I had him by the short and curlies ;), and the next thing he tells me, he did a system restore and lost all his emails including the chess. He had a thread on F1 about losing his emails, but personally I think it was just a ploy to have the games restarted. :D

821002 2009-10-15 21:28:00 Hi wainui

I just wish I COULD win by cheating in chess but my opponents are wise to me :waughh:
and it is good fun even so
I have in fact only uninstalled WLM and am using Outlook Express while you and I resolve my dilemma
If this program works for you--as it did for me originally-it might be worth a re install
My ISP server was and is completely empty after all this- though this morning which finally broke the camel's back---all the deleted e mail was back in the server but in "read"
mode
I just wonder if I have been infected with a trojan
Am doing all my weekly housekeeping as I type--nothing found yet

821003 2009-10-15 21:34:00 Hi,
Just found a reg entry during Spybot search---QwangC registry entry--is this the culprit?

821004 2009-10-15 21:42:00 Was it QiwangC.RegistryEasy ?? If it is, it looks like its a PUP (Potentially unwanted program). Which can be nasty. It could be adware, or worse Speedy Gonzales (78)
821005 2009-10-15 21:47:00 If its a nasty it wouldn't be helping anything.

Just looked at spybots updates, that was enetered in Sept 09. under the PUPS ((Potentially Unwanted Program)
