2008-08-12 04:44:00 | How long would it take for a professional to replace an entire car engine with a new one? more than 5 days? And are there places in Auckland where you can buy a new engine? | lance4k (4644) | |

2008-08-12 05:24:00 | depending on the car... I would say a good 8-10 hours min. in a real world workshop I would expect two or three days.

They ship to anywhere in the country) a few years back for a second hand engine- it worked fine, and it had a 90 day warranty. |

2008-08-13 00:56:00 | I would give it 5 days before getting concerned. Automotive workshops are busy places, and often little unforeseen things can slow work down, especially on a major job such as an engine transplant. | wratterus (105) | |
2008-08-13 01:52:00 | Back in the 70's we had a VW that we could rip the motor out of in under 10 min. Looking under the bonnet of most modern cars, I would still be scratching my head wondering where to start three days later..... So the answer is - it depends on the cars colour :illogical
