| 696506 | 2008-08-11 09:37:00 | Hi My friend has a mac.He has itunes installed and have a video clip that he wants to import over to his ipod The file is avi He plugs the ipod in the apple computer and it is docked.He opens up itunes and from the left hand side under the menu movies he and I tries to drag the video file into itunes but that doesn't work How do you import videos in the player? |

| 696509 | 2008-08-11 11:28:00 | He needs to rip/convert the file using handbrake - it is FREE. handbrake.fr Then import the converted file into iTunes and choose "convert for iPhone/iPod" then sync when done. Depending on the file size he rips it to, the bigger the file size the longer it will take to convert it for the iPod. Rip the file to h.264 (Bluray) |

| 696510 | 2008-08-11 12:08:00 | Got another friend who's running into the same problem but with vista. Gave her the software to convert.Converts fine but the video quality pretty bad. I recommend people not to buy ipods .Why can't itunes just support AVI? |

| 696512 | 2008-08-11 21:08:00 | I recommend people not to buy ipods .Why can't itunes just support AVI? Because .avi is outdated (en.wikipedia.org). Besides, you can download everything off youtube as .mp4 which itunes is happy to import. |
